About the event

The Juneteenth Art Contest & Auction begins on March 1st and invites all 901 artists aged 18 and over to create artwork reflecting this year's theme, Women of Color.

We recognize that life begins with Mother. Women have led our movements for freedom, equity, and equality for generations. This year, we honor the Women of Color who have paved the way for the freedoms we enjoy today and those who continue to fight for our rights, even when these hard-won gains are under threat.

With women's rights under attack, it is more important than ever to honor, support, and celebrate our female warriors!

The contest concludes on April 20th. The winner will be announced and receive a $500 CASH PRIZE on Saturday, May 3rd at the Douglass Community Center! The winning artwork will represent the 32nd Annual Juneteenth Douglass Freedom Festival on all merchandise, promotions, and announcements!
